The Quality and Environment Directorate is the executive body of the Quality Environment Board (QEB). The QEB is the commercial enterprise of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association. It was founded in 1996 in order for the control and environmental measurement services of the cement and relevant sectors to be carried out by an independent and impartial structure and is an independent and impartial enterprise made up of representatives from public, universities, manufacturers and customers. QEB is organized as the inspection and certification organization to perform environmental measurement services and to provide services for CE marking regarding cement and relevant products during the European Union (EU) harmonization process of our country.  
QEB is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) for cement and relevant products as Type A Inspection Body according to TS EN ISO 17020, as Certification Body according to TS EN 45011 and the environment laboratory, which was established for environmental measurements, is accredited as Test Laboratory according to TS EN ISO/IEC 17025. http://www.turkak.org.tr
QEB is assigned by the EU Commission on 20/11/2006 as the Notified Body with the Identity No. NB 1784 for the products of EN 197-1:2000, EN 197-1:2000/A1:2004 and EN 413-1:2004 standards within the scope of 89/106/EEC (CPD).       
Decision on the assignment of QEB with the identity no.1784 as the Notified Body by the T.R. Ministry of Public Works and Settlement was published in the T.R. Official Gazette dated 27 December 2006 and numbered 26389.
Accredited Environment Laboratory of the Quality and Environment Board is one of the most comprehensive laboratories in our country in terms of emission, air quality, meteorology, noise and personal exposure.  
QEB Environment Laboratory is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK) and is the first laboratory to be entitled to receive Environmental Analyses Competence Certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey.  
QEB has the Office Registration Certificate granted by the Chamber of Environmental Engineers (CEE).
