Optimum Particle Size Distribution for Rietveld Analysis of Materials with Different Mineralogical Composition
Determination of mineral composition and amount by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) method is an increasingly popular method due to its rapid and reliable results in many industries including cement industry. Within the scope of this project, the effect of natural resources used as raw materials in the cement industry, natural and by-products used as additives and clinker which is a semi-product of cement, particle size and ideal particle size range in XRD analysis for different material types will be investigated.
In this project, the ideal particle size range that may differ according to the material type will be examined in the XRD analyzes performed on the materials used as raw materials and additives in the cement industry and the cement semi-product clinker sample. In this way, it is aimed to reduce the margin of error in the sector, which works with highly sensitive mineralogical and chemical balances, by determining the ideal particle size ranges that will provide the most accurate result in XRD analysis for each material type.
