The Department carries out periodic and indefinite activities within the scope of economic assessments. Periodic activities are the collection, assessment and distribution of sectorial statistics (mainly from TÇMB members). In this process, the principles of information collection, evaluation and dissemination determined by the Competition Authority are fully observed and necessary measures are taken within the framework of the confidentiality of information collected. Within the framework of this rule; monthly information on production, consumption, stock, export, import and year-end information on capacity, sales distribution etc. is collected, evaluated and shared with the relevant institutions. Furthermore, statistical information brochure and sectorial evaluation booklet is prepared at each year-end. Our publication, which contains information on the world cement market compiled from the www.cemweek.com website, is published every month along with a summary translation. “Sectorial News” article is prepared for the “Cement and Concrete World”, which is published by the Association every 2 months. The scope of the article is determined as the news from the Turkish cement sector, investments and developments in the countries with strategic importance for Turkey. The collected monthly and annual statistics are added to the statistics section of the Association website after being announced to the members. The indefinite duties of the Department are regular follow-up of developments in the Europe, Middle East, Mediterranean Basin and other important cement markets and informing the members of the Association, conducting research on competing materials (Information collection, evaluation, dissemination, etc.) and information exchange with the institutions such as Ministries, Chambers, Universities, Public Institutions (Competition Authority, TOBB, CAEA, TUIK), banks and securities companies and students seeking information. In addition, the Department searches and reviews foreign and general bulletins, which relate to the sector. The Department meets such requests as data, comments, especially those requested by the media, and thus contributes to the increased appearance of the cement sector in the media. The members are immediately informed about the cement, clinker and material demands or sales from abroad. In addition, requests from abroad related to turnkey factory establishment, rehabilitation and the like are conveyed by the Department to the organizations engaged in production and project in the relevant subject.
