Volkan Bozay, CEO Of TÜRKÇİMENTP, Has Been Appointed as the Chairman of the Executive Council of the 14th Türktay Platform

Volkan Bozbay, the CEO of TÜRKÇİMENTO, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Executive Council of the 14th TÜRKTAY Platform. This platform, known as the “All Aspects of Waste Management in Türkiye," was formed by NGOs and private organizations working together to promote the creation and development of an efficient waste management and recycling system. 

Volkan Bozay, Chairman of the Executive Council of the 14TH TÜRKTAY Platform, has stated that he is committed to ensuring that the platform continues to develop and implement strategies that prioritize protecting environmental and national interests, as it has always done in the past. Bozay also reminded us that Türkiye’s 2053 Vision includes the goal of achieving a sustainable green economy through effective ‘waste management and recycling.’ 

Volkan Bozay has stated that TÜRKÇİMENTO will continue to contribute to the platform’s initiatives as it has been in the past and added: “The Turkish cement sector is focused on achieving global recognition by excelling in areas such as green deal harmonization, alternative fuel and raw material utilization, energy efficiency, and digitalization, in addition to achieving superior production and sales figures. The sector has already begun adapting to the twin transition phase. We have now transitioned to a stage where digitalization and green practices cannot be treated as separate entities. The social transformation aspect of this transition is equally crucial. Hence, it is imperative to reevaluate the twin transition as a triplet”. 

Bozay highlighted that the Turkish cement industry, with 56 integrated and 21 grinding facilities spread across the country, is the fifth-largest producer in the world and the leading producer in Europe, catering to more than 100 markets and ranks as the world's second-largest exporter of total clinker and cement.
