Adil Sani Konukoğlu Re-Elected as Chairman of TÜRKÇİMENTO

KONUKOĞLU: “OUR SECTOR CONTINUES ITS STRONG AND BALANCED GROWTH”

At the 68th Ordinary General Assembly of TÜRKÇİMENTO, the umbrella organization of the Turkish cement industry, the current Chairman of the Board, Adil Sani Konukoğlu, was re-elected as Chairman. During the General Assembly, the Union’s 2025 performance was evaluated.

Speaking at the General Assembly held on February 12, Konukoğlu commemorated the former Chairman, Fatih Yücelik, who recently lost his life in a tragic traffic accident, stating: “We will always remember with respect the valuable contributions of our esteemed colleague, the late Fatih Yücelik, to our sector and to our Union.

Our foremost responsibility is to carry forward the structure to which he devoted great effort with the same determination and resolve.” In his speech, Konukoğlu emphasized the strong global position of the Turkish cement industry, noting that Türkiye consistently maintains its position as the world’s 5th largest producer and 2nd largest exporter.

Stressing that TÜRKÇİMENTO represents approximately 94% of the sector, Konukoğlu stated that this structure is the strongest indicator of the industry’s institutional unity. Highlighting that the announcement of the 2025 data is imminent, Konukoğlu said, “During this period, the sector continues to progress in a balanced manner.” He noted that domestic demand has been driven by earthquake housing and urban transformation projects and expressed expectations that growth in the construction sector will continue in 2026. Following the opening speech at the General Assembly, Chairman of the Board Adil Sani Konukoğlu was unanimously re-elected as Chairman.
