Dr. Tamer Saka, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÇMB, Appears in the Finance Center Program Presented By Açıl Sezen

Explaining the figures of the sector during the pandemic period, Saka expressed that there became a 30% decline in domestic sales in 2019 and that the serious contraction of the sector has been experienced since 2018. He mentioned that the sector increased by 16% at the beginning of 2020 compared to the previous year started to experience a trend of contraction once again due to the pandemic. Highlighting the fact that the working order was altered to a serious extent during the pandemic period, Saka said, “We endeavored to provide all kinds of suitable environments for employees. The number of cases observed in our plants is very low; we are motivating our employees to take personal precautions and we will continue to do so. All our actors are taking the required steps in this sense."

He expressed that the contraction posed by the pandemic is being tracked by the sector and said, “We hope that this process will recover by next spring; but we need to take action today should this process extend.”
