Dr. Tamer Saka, Chair of the Board of Directors of TÜRKÇİMENTO, Appears as a Guest in Fox Tv’s Çalar Saat Program

Dr. Tamer Saka appeared on the Çalar Saat program hosted by Ismail Küçükkaya on FOX TV on 8 January 2021.

In his statements regarding the earthquake topic, Saka said, “Following the Elazığ Earthquake, we went to the area and scrutinized it. Unfortunately, we saw that almost one third of the city was affected by the earthquake. Subsequently, the Izmir Earthquake took place. We become sad after each earthquake we witness and we are talking about the things that must be done but we forget them in the course of time and turn back to our daily lives. As the country, we do not deserve it. Considering that we can ensure the things experienced can be more different by providing our support, we, as TÜRKÇİMENTO, made a civil initiative call following the Izmir Earthquake.

At the end of November, we quickly came together with 22 nongovernmental institutions of leading businesses organizations in Turkey and combined our forces. The most important acquisition in this project will be to ensure the culmination of the awareness in the public opinion and keep that awareness alive.”

Saka continued his speech as follows:

“In this endeavor, we are working on the things that must be done in short, medium, and long terms. There are many issues to be done in short, medium, and long terms. Our target is to bring together present, previous, and future earthquake-related works performed by all nonprofit organizations as well as applicable proposals under a single roof with the perspective of short, medium, and long term, to report them, to follow them up, and to share them with the public in particular periods. We aim to share the report with the entire public. However, we will not stop after sharing the report; we will provide an identity to that civil initiative and we will be tracing it constantly.”
