A Video Message From Dr. Tamer Saka, Chairman Of The Board Of Directors Of TÇMB, At The Inauguration Of The Cementtech Event Of The China Cement Association

Dr. Tamer Saka who started his speech by mentioning his unhappiness that he was not able to take part in the event due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in our country shared the current data of the Turkish cement sector with the participants. “As the Turkish cement sector, we are the largest producer in Europe and the sixth largest one in the world. When it comes to exports, we are the second after Vietnam in the world. We expect to be the world leader in exports by the end of the year.  

Our sector has a two billion-dollar turnover with its employment of 19 thousand people and its significant contribution to the economy of the country, and a strategic importance with a revenue of 900 million dollars of export to 114 countries,” he said.  

In addition, Saka expressed that despite the fact that the production of the Turkish cement sector that produces with sensitivity in terms of the sustainable environment issue declined by 25% in 2019 compared to 2016, the use of alternative raw materials increased by 40% from 1,2 million tons to 1,7 million tons and that during the same years, the ratio of fuel derived from waste was up from 656 thousand tons to 919 thousand tons through an increase of 40%.
